REQUIREMENTS

  - 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 on an x64 computer
  - A 64-bit DAW that supports VST3 audio effects

This download contains the Windows VST3 edition. It runs inside your DAW.
Follow INSTALL-UNINSTALL.txt before opening the plug-in. That guide also
covers Microsoft's runtime if your DAW reports a missing runtime DLL.

GETTING STARTED

1. Insert Astron Compressor on an audio track. Start with Studio Default
and keep the sidechain source set to Internal.
2. Play the loudest section and lower Threshold until the gain-reduction
meter responds. Adjust Ratio for the strength of compression.
3. Adjust Attack and Release to suit the material; try Auto Release for
program-dependent recovery. Use Mix to blend dry and compressed audio.
4. Adjust Output to compare at a similar listening level when using Bypass.
Automatic makeup is off by default.

For external sidechain compression, route a source to the plug-in's sidechain
input in your DAW, then select External. NOT AVAILABLE means the host has not
enabled the sidechain input; NO SIGNAL means the input is enabled but silent.
External mode does not fall back to the track's own audio. Turn Sidechain
Listen and Delta Listen off after auditioning so you hear the normal output.
